Spicy Smoke — Premium Fast Food & BBQ

Spicy Smoke

Spicy Smoke is a fast-food and BBQ restaurant brand in Hyderabad, and its website is the customer-facing half of the business: browse the full menu by category, search for a dish, open a quick view of any item, fill a cart drawer, place an order through cash-on-delivery checkout, or book a table for a specific time slot.

  • Full menu with categories, search and quick-view dish details
  • Cart drawer and online ordering with cash-on-delivery checkout
  • Table reservations validated against real booking rules
  • Customer accounts with an order and reservation dashboard

Why we built it

A restaurant site has to take the order, not just describe it.

Independent kitchens need three things from a website: a menu customers can search, an order that reaches the kitchen, and bookings the front desk can trust. Spicy Smoke needed all three in one place, so we built the customer site and the admin portal as a single product rather than a brochure with a contact form.

Menus trapped in pictures

A menu baked into an image can't be filtered, searched, or changed without someone redesigning it.

Orders scattered across channels

Orders that arrive by phone or chat are easy to lose, and nothing lands in one list the kitchen can work from.

Bookings without a single record

Table requests written down by hand are hard to check against the day's real availability.

How we approached it

Decisions you can feel in the product.

01

Menu as data, not markup

Dishes, categories and prices are served from app data, so the restaurant can change the menu without touching layout code.

02

Only ship what the kitchen can fulfil

Ordering runs on cash-on-delivery checkout today; card and wallet payments are marked as roadmap instead of being presented as live.

03

Reservations that actually validate

Booking requests are checked against time rules and stored in the database, so the front desk works from one list.

04

An admin portal the team runs

Twelve admin pages cover orders, menu, reservations, users, loyalty, reviews, analytics, notifications, content and settings, all against the real database.

What it does

Six capabilities, live on the site today.

Every item below ships in the live build — no roadmap wallpaper, no staged screenshots.

Menu browsing

Category navigation, search and a quick view for every dish on the menu.

Cart drawer

Add, adjust and review an order in a drawer without leaving the menu.

Cash-on-delivery ordering

Place an order and have it persisted to the database for the kitchen and the admin portal.

Table reservations

Book a table with time validation, saved straight to the reservations list.

Accounts and customer dashboard

Email/password sign-in with a dashboard for order and reservation history.

12-page admin portal

Orders, menu, reservations, users, loyalty, reviews, analytics, notifications, content and settings — real database CRUD, not mock data.

Checkout settles cash on delivery today — card and wallet payments are on the roadmap.

Under the hood

A stack chosen to ship — and to keep running.

Next.js 16 (App Router)React 19TypeScriptTailwind CSS v4Supabase (Auth + Postgres)framer-motionVercel

One Next.js app, front to back

Customer pages, data access and the admin portal live in a single typed App Router codebase, so storefront and back-office changes ship together.

Supabase for auth and data

Accounts plus the Postgres tables behind orders, reservations and the admin screens — real reads and writes end to end.

Live on Vercel

The site is deployed on Vercel, so menu and content updates reach customers with a normal deploy.
